Project summary | This project, “Sustainable Fashion From Portugal: Fashion Industry New Chic”, presented by the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association, was designed to expand the sector’s creative and export potential, within a framework of environmental sustainability across the entire spectrum of its value chain.
With this in mind, the following strategic objectives have been established:
(i) To promote the image of companies in the fashion, textile and clothing sectors on the international stage, associating them with an image of sustainability and social responsibility, thereby increasing their international turnover and, consequently, their competitiveness;
(ii) To promote innovation and the development of expertise amongst entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the sector;
(iii) To foster cooperation amongst Portuguese entrepreneurs in the sector operating across the globe;
(iv) To reduce information asymmetries that could undermine the positioning of Portuguese companies vis-à-vis their international counterparts;
(v) To promote Portuguese fashion in global markets where sustainability is a key priority;
(vi) To ensure that sustainability serves as a differentiating factor in competitive environments and in the face of increasingly demanding consumers;
