With the implementation of the project ‘Regenerating the Sector: Securing the Future’ and in line with the strategic objective of empowering the business community to respond to current trends that will shape the Portuguese textile and clothing industry in the coming years – particularly in terms of innovation, through technology and creativity, digitalisation – introducing new channels of communication and trade – and sustainability, addressing both economic and strategic aspects, as well as projecting the image of a modern and sophisticated industry both domestically and internationally, the following operational objectives were defined:

1. To encourage and facilitate the integration of businesses into the digital economy;
2. To promote and encourage the adoption of new methodologies for business, product and service development, in line with the Industry 4.0 paradigm;
3. To raise awareness amongst the sector’s stakeholders of the need to define strategic positions appropriate to the new business paradigms;
4. To raise awareness among SME entrepreneurs and managers regarding the promotion and intensification of innovative and high-quality activities to advance along the value chain;
5. To increase companies’ access to information and tools supporting operational and strategic management, so that they can make informed and up-to-date decisions;
6. To strengthen access to finance and the capital markets through sharing and interaction with stakeholders.

The expected impact of the project’s implementation is that companies will acquire new skills and technological and digital tools enabling them to transform their own business models, creating more capable, innovative and competitive structures on a global scale.

To quantify the results and expected impacts of the project’s implementation (with the production of the outputs specified for each activity being central), it was considered that the indicators set out in the Call for Proposals are appropriate; accordingly, the following activities have been defined:
